A method of training the mind which recognizes that learning takes place in 3 stages:

  • 1st Stage: -Grammar- Instruct in Knowledge (content, absorption of information, building blocks for all others years, not a focus on criticizing or analyzing, self-expression or self-discovery)

 

  • 2nd Stage: -Logic- Guide in Understanding (arrange information in logical order, how the facts relate to one another; who, what, when, where, how, why, where, to what degree)

 

  • 3rd Stage: Rhetoric- Challenge in Wisdom (put content into practical use, expression with confidence and force)
